Four Main Events
MAMA’s four main events will be an ever evolving part of MAMA. These events will directly reflect the needs of the arts community. We hope to have the Montana communities involved help MAMA in preserving the magic, creativity, and uniqueness of the seasons and the music/art that coincides with it.
to learn & network
to gather & celebrate
to recognize & uplift
to build & strategize
Quarterly Community Meetings
These meetings will be held to gather perspective from the community, assess the needs of the community, and create a space where folks in the music scene can find collaborations and connections. All to better our programs, events, and opportunities. MAMA wants to hear from you!
The goal of MAMAcademy is to provide structured, practical learning opportunities for Montanans in the music community and enhancing their practical skills and abilities.
MAMAcademy is a series of professional development workshops geared towards musicians, sound engineers, and promoters. This series will take a creator through all the steps they will need to advance their career while gaining insight to all the individual roles needed to put on a show, record music, and promote an artist.
Past MAMA Events
MEET YOUR MAMA | NOV. 15TH, 2019
We held our debut of MAMA as a celebration of local music and the impact it inspires. MAMA brought together artists/collaborators/musical advocates to the light to recognize their dedication to a thriving musical community. We were honored to host our first ever event at the beloved ZACC. With the help of their dedicated staff, Missoula musicians, music lovers, and visionaries we introduced MAMA’s 10 year plan to the community. The Vintage, Chris Sandman, MissAlaneous and the Caravan Band, Junior, Aaron Wailing Jennings shared the stage and wowed Missoula. Huge thank you again to our Legacy Members who financially contributed $100 each to ensure a livable wage for the individuals involved in making this event happen. MAMA raised a little over $1500 from the generous folks who attended Meet Your MAMA. Thank you.
MAMA PRESENTS | Jan. 1st, 2020
A portion of the First Night Missoula series. With the generous involvement and commitment of Arts Missoula, MAMA was able to host an intimate evening at the Downtown dance Collective in which we featured: Naomi Siegel, Hardwood Heart, Valley Lopez, Rebecca Kelley, Paige Grey, Red Onion Purple, and Jackson Holte. Matt Olson of Attack and Release Sound Studios ran the sound for both of these events. Combined with the artists unique, professional, and quality music and Matt’s knowledge and precision both of the events were state of the art sound. Thank you to Heather Adams, the owner of DDC for opening her captivating space to provide such a wonderful evening. And thanks to Bridge Pizza for feeding the artists and volunteers.
MISSOULA GIVES | APR. 30TH – MAY 1ST, 2020
MAMA participated in Missoula Gives. We raised $2,686.00 from the generous contributions for 38 donors supporting MAMA. We hosted 25 local musicians to live stream for this community event totaling 15 hours! Thank you Missoula and the Missoula Community Foundation!
